About 80% of adults experience back pain at some point in their life. Back pain can originate from a variety of causes which can include:

  • Sprains & Strains
  • Intervertebral¬†Disc Degeneration
  • Herniated or Ruptured Discs
  • Radiculopathy
  • Sciatica
  • Spondylolisthesis
  • Traumatic Injury
  • Spinal Stenosis
  • Skeletal Irregularities

Treat Back Pain With Early Intervention

Back pain can be effectively treated with early intervention depending on the severity of the injury. The three stages of back pain which exist are acute (1-4 weeks), sub-acute (4-12 weeks), and chronic (greater than 12 weeks). Patients will want to seek out treatment for lower back pain within the first 4 weeks of experiencing pain for efficient recovery. Even if a patient has been experiencing chronic lower back pain, healing can still take place and lead to a pain free life. With lower back conditions, prior tissue impairments may be present which prevent self-healing of lower back pain.

Our approach to lower back pain considers prior function and focuses on restoring normal tissue and joint mobility, proper postural alignment, and correct tissue mobility which may have led to back pain and prevented self-healing to occur. Our therapists are determined to conservatively eliminate lower back pain and improve functional performance with the vast treatment options offered at Advanced Spine and Sport Rehabilitation.
